Youth athletics clubs share coaching between island meets
Coaches across the region are swapping training plans and video so young sprinters and jumpers keep improving between competitions.

Youth athletics clubs across the Caribbean are sharing coaching between competitions, swapping training plans and video so athletes on smaller islands get the same feedback as those in larger programmes.
How the exchange works
Coaches record short clips of starts, take-offs and handovers, then trade notes with colleagues on other islands. Athletes receive one or two clear technical points to work on each week.
Keeping it practical
- Sessions focus on fundamentals: posture, rhythm and recovery.
- Clubs share simple drills that need little equipment.
- Older athletes help coach younger squads.
Looking ahead
Clubs plan to extend the exchange to field events and to include short sessions on nutrition and rest, which coaches say are often overlooked at youth level.
